The President of Ukraine met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Mevlüt Çavusoglu, who arrived to Kyiv to participate in the third meeting of the joint strategic planning group, which is a working body of strategic high-level Council of Ukraine and Turkey.

The President stressed that it is impossible to make pauses in bilateral cooperation. The interlocutors agreed that the next meeting of the strategic Council will take place in Kiev at the beginning of next year with the participation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Turkish Foreign Minister said that his country supports the peace plan of the President of Ukraine to resolve the situation in Donbass.

"I want to reiterate our full support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We will never recognize the illegal annexation of the Crimea ", said the Turkish Minister.

The head of State thanked Turkey for its support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and noted the importance of its position in the international arena, particularly in international organizations.

"The case we are running-it is a strategy that must reintegrate occupied territories, including the establishment of a free trade zone and the holding of local elections. We are looking for support for this strategy, among other international partners, "said Petro Poroshenko.

Ukraine's President called for increased cooperation to protect the rights of the Crimean Tatar people. He recalled that the leaders of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Džemilevu and Refatu Chubarova still banned entry to the Crimea. The President expressed the hope that Turkey would support the international position in response to a violation by Russia of its international human rights obligations.

For its part, the Turkish Foreign Minister, thanked the President of Ukraine for its support of the Crimean Tatars. He also expressed the willingness of Turkey to become a member of the Conference of donors and investors for Ukraine to be held early next year.
